Evacuation in Ostend after WWII bomb found Mar 26th 2019, 12:23
Two residential towers in the coastal city of Ostend were evacuated on Tuesday morning after a bomb was discovered on a construction site in the port.The bomb, of British origin, was found during work on a Hendrik Baelskaai shipyard. Upon discovery, the communal disaster plan was triggered.
Attention! During work at a shipyard in the Hendrik Baelskaai 22 an English aeroplane bomb was found. In the Meantime, DOVO, the Army’s demining service, is present. A zone of 250 meters is evacuated around the aeroplane bomb, said Stad Ostend on Twitter just before 4AM Tuesday morning.
Residents of the towers were evacuated to a nearby holiday centre, said the municipality of Ostend on Twitter.

UPDATE: N.a.v. de vondst van een vliegtuigbom uit WOII t.h.v. de Hendrik Baelskaai 22 werden de buurtbewoners geëvacueerd naar Duin en Zee. Ondertussen is DOVO ter plaatse en wordt de bom ontmanteld.
